Blue Star is a native perennial named for its soft blue, star-shaped flowers. It prefers moist, loamy soils, but is tolerant of clay as well as drought. When grown in part shade, the plant may require some staking. If you prefer a bushier plant, cut back stems by 1/3 after flowering. Missouri Botanical Garden, Plant of Merit, 2015.
