Hot Lips Turtlehead features two-lipped, snapdragon-like blooms of a richer pink than the species, leaves of a darker green than the species, and red stems. It will spread via rhizomes to form clumps and will also self-seed. Pinching in the early spring will produce a shorter plant and encourage bushiness. These plants are late sleepers in the spring, so be patient. Turtlehead is native to the Eastern United States.
