Plains coreopsis is a slender, tall annual known for its yellow blooms with maroon centers 1-2" across. It freely self seeds so deadhead to reduce spread. Attracts butterflies, bees, and birds and blooms from June-September. Seeds may be sown indoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost date. Set plants out after last frost or plant seed directly after last frost. Also known as Golden tickseed or Calliopsis.
