White Wood Aster is native to the woodlands along the Appalachian Mountain range. Plants are covered in small, white, daisy-like flowers with golden centers that fade to a dusky rose, and are among the first asters to bloom. North Carolina Native Plant Society, Wildflower of the Year, 2008.
