Wild geranium is the showiest of the native geraniums, having larger flowers than the other species. This low maintenance, herbaceous perennial is native to deciduous woodlands throughout eastern North America in zones 3 to 8. Wild geranium is easily cultivated and can be grown as an ornamental in gardens. Myriad 5-petaled lavender-pink flowers are adored by butterflies and later in the season, prominent beaked seed capsules provide additional interest.
