Clump-forming, short-lived perennial, grown as much for its basal clumps of ovate, densely woolly, silver-gray leaves as for its vivid rose magenta flowers. Easily grown in average soil in full sun. 
Start indoors approximately 8 to 10 weeks before the last spring frost after three weeks of refrigeration to break dormacy. Will self-seed.
