Purple climbing French-type bean--long, slim and very crisp. They turn green when cooked, or eat them raw in salads. Pick when no thicker than a pencil for greatest tenderness and best flavor. Plant every 2 to 3 weeks through the end of July. Primary pest is Mexican bean beetle.

Plant 1" deep, 6" apart, or 3-4 around each pole or leg of tripod. Save some seeds to fill in gaps. Plant only after soil has warmed up to at least 60°F.  Bean seeds will rot in cold, damp soil.
