Obedient Plant is native to North America from Quebec to Manitoba and south to Florida and New Mexico. It is called "obedient" because each individual flower will remain temporarily in position after being pushed in any one direction, as if it were hinged. This is a wonderful choice if you need a plant to fill in large spots. Like all members of the mint family, it produces copious amounts of nectar and provides a much-needed boost of energy for pollinators facing the coming winter.
