Also known as black-eyed Susans, this Rudbeckia has bright yellow ray petals surrounding a raised brown central cone.  They are a biennial or short-lived perennial but self-seed.  
Direct sow in fall on soil surface.  If started indoors or planted in spring will require cold stratification.
