White vervain is also known as the Nettle-leaf vervain due to its large (3-8 inch) ovate, coarsley toothed leaves This native perennial easily self seeds and grows in part shade and full sun. Spikes of small white flowers occur June-October. Tolerates moist soils as well as poor soils and easily establishes in disturbed areas. Direct sow on the soil surface in fall. If started indoors or in the spring needs stratification.
